Purpose

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Yolo County Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (YolYPAA) is an all inclusive committee of alcoholics young in mind, body and spirit. We strive to help other alcoholics who suffer as we do through spiritual principals. Our hope is to touch the lives of like-minded people who are seeking help by providing a safe space for all to feel welcome.

As individuals, we have found a higher purpose through the 12 steps and 12 traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous: To live a life in service to others and to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers. Through the legacies of Unity, Service and Recovery we feel we have been granted a life beyond our wildest dreams.

Our sole purpose as a committee is to share with others that this life is for all who seek it. We invite you to join us now and in the future and to reach out when you need to. For we know that our responsibility is to our fellow sufferer, and, for any alcoholic, to drink is to die.

Recovery | When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, we want the hand of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) always to be there. YolYPAA committee work is important to our recovery. We try to carry the message of AA and its spiritual principles in our committee affairs.

Unity  |  YolYPAA serves other alcoholics through meetings, events, and outreach. We have regular business meetings to plan these efforts. All members and interested AA's are encouraged to attend. Our current business meetings take place Sundays from 3:30 to 6:30. Contact us for details.

Service | YolYPAA is run by elected trusted servants. We currently have open Committee Chair positions--and always welcome visitors and members-at-large!
